Hez2: A Thrilling Moroccan Card Game
Hez2 is a popular and classic family card game from Morocco. This turn-based game supports up to four players (one, two, or three players are also possible). The goal is simple: be the first to get rid of all your cards.
Gameplay:
Players take turns playing a card that matches either the suit or the rank of the card previously played. If a player has no matching card, they must draw a card from the deck. Even if a player has a matching card, they can choose to draw instead.
Special Cards:
-
2: When a 2 is played, the next player must draw two cards. If they also have a 2, they can choose to play it (forcing the next player to draw four), and so on. The chain continues until a player without a 2 draws the cumulative number of cards.
-
7: The player who plays a 7 can change the required suit/color for the next card played.
-
10: The player who plays a 10 must play another card immediately. If the 10 was their last card, they must draw a card.
-
12: In games with three or four players, playing a 12 skips the next player's turn. This rule doesn't apply to two-player games.
Game End:
The game ends when a player plays their last card (with slight variations if the last card is a 2 or a 10). That player is declared the winner!
The Deck:
Hez2 uses a 40-card deck with four suits:
- 10 Copas (Tbaye9)
- 10 Espadas (Syouf)
- 10 Oros (D'hab)
- 10 Bastos (Zrawéte)
Each suit contains cards numbered 1-7 and 10-12.
Hez2 is fun for the whole family! Enjoy!
