MAME4droid 2024, developed by David Valdeita (Seleuco), is a port of the MAME 0.270 emulator, created by MAMEDev and its contributors. This powerful emulator brings the classic arcade experience to your high-end Android devices, supporting over 40,000 different ROMs across a variety of systems including ZX Spectrum, Amstrad CPC, and MSX. However, it's important to note that MAME4droid is solely an emulator and does not come with any ROMs or copyrighted material.
This version of MAME4droid is tailored for high-performance Android devices, as it leverages the latest PC MAME version, which demands higher specs than its predecessors. While it offers an extensive library, performance can vary significantly; some games may run smoothly while others might not run at all or may not achieve full speed, especially for "modern" arcade games from the 90s onwards. Given the vast number of supported titles, it's impractical to guarantee universal compatibility, so please refrain from contacting the developer about specific game support.
To get started, after installing MAME4droid, you'll need to place your MAME-compatible zipped ROMs in the /storage/emulated/0/Android/data/com.seleuco.mame4d2024/files/roms folder. Please note that this version of MAME4droid specifically uses the '0.269' romset, not those from older versions.
