Atelier Resleriana: Forgotten Alchemy and the Polar Night Liberator's global server is shutting down. Koei Tecmo and Akatsuki Games announced the end-of-service (EOS) for the global version of their RPG, just over a year after its January 2024 launch. The Japanese version, launched in September 2023, remains unaffected and will celebrate its 1.5th anniversary in March 2025.

Ironically, the global server's shutdown coincides with the Japanese version's 1.5th anniversary celebration. The global version will officially shut down on March 28th, 2025. While Japanese players enjoy Chapter 22 (Part 2), global players will conclude their journey with Chapter 21 (Part 1).
In-game purchases are already disabled, but remaining Lodestar Gems can be used until the shutdown. Koei Tecmo promises new content and events leading up to the closure, despite the recent first-anniversary celebration on January 25th.
Reasons for Shutdown
The developers cited an inability to maintain a satisfactory player experience as the reason for the shutdown. The game struggled to gain traction, with player complaints surfacing about the gacha system and power creep almost immediately after launch. Despite strong main characters, gameplay and monetization issues ultimately led to the decision.
The global version remains available on the Google Play Store for those wishing to play before the shutdown. For those looking for a new mobile game experience, consider checking out the current Sky: Children of the Light Lunar New Year 2025 event.
