Larian Studios announced on Steam that a stress test for Baldur's Gate 3 Patch 8 will begin in January. This test will be available on PC via Steam, as well as Xbox and PlayStation consoles. Mac and GOG users will not be included in this test. Registration is currently open.
Larian plans to thoroughly test Patch 8 for bugs and gameplay issues before its official release. They are specifically seeking player assistance in identifying problems, particularly with the newly implemented cross-play functionality. The developer acknowledged the significant challenge of adding cross-play to a game of Baldur's Gate 3's scale and encourages players to participate in testing. Players are encouraged to invite friends or find groups through the Larian Studios Discord server.
While Patch 8 marks the final major update for Baldur's Gate 3, Larian has committed to ongoing support for modders. Significant updates are planned to enhance modding capabilities, allowing players greater freedom in creating and sharing their own content. Since the September release of official modding tools, the game has seen an impressive 70 million module downloads and over 3,000 mod uploads.
