After months of swirling rumors and leaks, it appears that Bethesda is poised to officially announce the much-anticipated remake of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. The announcement is scheduled for tomorrow at 11:00 am EST and will be streamed live on both YouTube and Twitch.
In a recent tweet from the official Bethesda account, the company teased the announcement with an image prominently featuring a large "IV" and a background reminiscent of iconic Oblivion artwork, strongly hinting at what fans can expect.
Rumors of an Oblivion remake have been circulating for years, but recent leaks have intensified speculation. Initially, a 2020 Bethesda release schedule, revealed during the FTC vs. Microsoft trial in 2023, suggested an Oblivion remaster was slated for fiscal year 2022. Although this timeline had passed, making it seem like the project might have been canceled, a leak in January of this year indicated that Bethesda, with support from Virtuos, was actively developing a full remake. The latest leaks from Virtuos' website just last week seemed to confirm these developments, showcasing images of the remake in progress.
If these leaks hold true, The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion Remastered will be available on PC, Xbox, and PlayStation. Additionally, a Deluxe Edition is rumored to include the infamous horse armor, alongside the standard version.
Be sure to tune in tomorrow to get all the official details and confirmation on this exciting announcement.
