Blasphemous, the challenging 2D platformer drawing inspiration from religious iconography and Spanish folklore, is now available on Android! This release includes all DLC, gamepad support, and a completely redesigned user interface. The iOS version is coming soon.
Organized religion can be unsettling, and Blasphemous, from The Game Kitchen, masterfully captures that unsettling atmosphere. Its gothic aesthetic, intense side-scrolling combat, and unforgiving difficulty are hallmarks of the experience. Now, Android gamers can join the fray.
You play as The Penitent One, a warrior battling to liberate the cursed island of Cvstodia from the blight known as The Miracle. Confronting monstrous creatures born from a twisted blend of religious imagery and Spanish folklore, your quest is to break the curse—and brace yourself for numerous deaths along the way.
The mobile version features a revamped UI and intuitive touch controls, along with Bluetooth gamepad compatibility for those preferring a controller. All DLC is included.
iOS users will have to wait a bit longer; the game is slated for release in late February 2025. However, given the overwhelmingly positive reception from players and critics, the wait will likely be worthwhile.
