Jack Quaid, known for his role in "The Boys," has expressed his enthusiasm for appearing in a potential BioShock movie, citing the game as one of his all-time favorites. During a Reddit AMA promoting his latest film, Novocaine, Quaid highlighted the game's rich lore as a prime candidate for a TV or movie adaptation. "I would actually love to be in a live-action adaptation of BioShock - one of my favorite games of all time," he shared. "I think there's such a rich lore to that game that could be explored in a TV or movie adaptation."
The prospect of a BioShock movie, however, remains uncertain. Last July, producer Roy Lee mentioned that the project had undergone a "reconfiguration" due to leadership changes at Netflix, aiming for a more "personal" narrative. This shift was partly driven by budget cuts. "The new regime has lowered the budgets," Lee explained. "So we're doing a much smaller version. It's going to be a more personal point of view, as opposed to a grander, big project." Despite these changes, Francis Lawrence, known for directing The Hunger Games, remains attached to direct the film.
Interestingly, Quaid's likeness to Max Payne, the protagonist of another iconic video game series, has sparked discussions among fans, especially with visuals from his new action movie Novocaine drawing comparisons. Quaid acknowledged the resemblance but admitted he has yet to play Max Payne, which is currently being remade by Remedy in collaboration with Rockstar. "I've seen people say that I look like Max Payne, and when I've looked at the box art, even I did a double-take," Quaid said. "I love Rockstar's games, but unfortunately I've never played that one - it's next on the list, for sure."
Beyond BioShock, Quaid's passion for gaming extends to FromSoftware's challenging titles. In the same Reddit AMA, he revealed his deep dive into games like Bloodborne, Sekiro, and Elden Ring. "I'm a huge video game nerd," he stated. "And lately I've been diving headfirst into the FromSoftware library. I beat Bloodborne, then I beat Sekiro, and now I'm going full boar into Elden Ring. Actually, the thing I use Reddit the most for is tips and tricks on beating Fromsoft's bosses. I love how challenging the games are - it took me a while to get into them, but now I'm obsessed."
