The film, which was announced in December 2023, serves as a direct sequel to the MAPPA-produced anime series that debuted in 2022. It continues the story of Denji, a young man who gains new life and powers after forming a pact with a Chainsaw Devil named Pochita. This unique ability allows Denji to sprout chainsaws from various parts of his body, transforming him into the formidable Chainsaw Man.

Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc introduces a new character, Reze, a pivotal figure from Tatsuki Fujimoto’s original manga. The film is directed by Tatsuya Yoshihara and scripted by Hiroshi Seko, with the entire original voice cast returning to bring their characters to life once again.
