How To Find and Craft Essence Stones in Fields of Mistria

Essence Stones are a new addition to *Fields of Mistria*, introduced in the March 2025 update. These stones are crucial for several new features, making them essential for daily tasks. This guide covers finding, crafting, and using Essence Stones of various sizes.

Where to Find Essence Stones in Fields of Mistria

Since the March 2025 update, Essence Stones can be found within chests located in the mines. While I discovered my first one while searching for offering items to break the Fire Seal on Floor 60, chests can appear on any level across all biomes and floors. Beware of mimic enemies—they look like chests but will attack if interacted with.

Essence Stones come in four sizes: tiny, small, medium, and large. Smaller stones are more common, but larger ones can be found with diligent searching. If you're struggling to locate them, you can craft them after building the Stone Refinery in the mines.

How to Craft Essence Stones in Fields of Mistria

The Stone Refinery in *Fields of Mistria* allows Essence Stone crafting. This location is part of a new questline added in the March 2025 update, requiring you to construct the refinery within the mines. After completing prerequisite quests, Adeline will enlist your help alongside Olric and Errol.

To build the Stone Refinery, you'll need:

• 200 Wood
• 400 Stone
• 5,000 Tesserae

Once built, you can craft Essence Stones of various sizes. Each requires Stone and Essence, but the quantities vary depending on the size. See the table below:

Besides Essence Stones, the Stone Refinery crafts various common materials, Refined Stone, and rare items like Obsidian and Diamond, making it a valuable hub for crafting supplies.

How to Use Essence Stones in Fields of Mistria

The March 2025 update introduced the auto-petter and sprinkler mechanics. Both utilize Essence Stones, with larger stones providing longer durations. Large Essence Stones offer the most extended use.

The auto-petter, linked to the Animal Sprite Statue, automatically pets animals in Large Barns and Coops when an Essence Stone is inserted. This rare statue is found in a hidden cave near Errol's house in the Narrows (use Dragon's Breath on the entrance). Additional statues can be crafted after unlocking the item.

The sprinkler mechanic uses the Water Sprite Statue, automatically watering crops within a 2-tile radius when an Essence Stone is in place. This statue and its crafting scroll are located on a small island east of the beach, beyond the Lighthouse (use Dragon's Breath to access the hidden area). Multiple statues can be crafted.

Essence Stones will likely see expanded use in future Fields of Mistria updates from NPC Studio.
