Dialga, a prominent face in the *Pokémon TCG Pocket* Space-Time Smackdown expansion, naturally boasts its own powerful deck archetype. Here are two top-tier Dialga ex deck builds to get you started.
Table of Contents
- Metal Dialga ex
- Dialga ex/Yanmega ex Combo
Metal Dialga ex
This deck utilizes: Meltan x2, Melmetal x2, Dialga ex x2, Mew ex, Heatran, Tauros, Dawn x2, Giovanni x2, Leaf x2, Professor’s Research x2, Poké Ball x2, Giant Cape x2.
Meltan and Melmetal, previously struggling even during the Pokémon TCG Pocket Genetic Apex and Mythical Island eras, finally shine with Dialga ex's support. Dialga ex's Metallic Turbo ability significantly boosts consistency by attaching two Metal Energy to benched Pokémon, accelerating the setup of Melmetal.
Mew ex and Tauros act as valuable counters, also benefiting from the rapid energy acceleration provided by Metallic Turbo. Mew ex's Genome Hacking and Tauros' attack only require Colorless Energy, enabling faster development while Dialga ex carries the offensive load.
Dialga ex/Yanmega ex Combo
This deck features: Dialga ex x2, Yanma x2, Yanmega ex x2, Tauros, Mew ex, Professor’s Research x2, Poké Ball x2, Pokémon Communication x2, Giant Cape x2, Dawn x2, Leaf x2.
While Yanmega ex excels in Grass-type decks alongside Exeggutor ex, its synergy with Dialga ex is surprisingly strong, especially given its Colorless Energy requirement. Yanmega ex's Air Slash, dealing 120 damage, can easily one-shot many opponents. The Energy discard penalty is easily mitigated by Dialga ex's energy acceleration.
Dialga ex's Metallic Turbo makes it a versatile addition to almost any Colorless deck. While Yanmega ex proves a particularly strong partner, experimentation with other Colorless attackers like Pidgeot or Pidgeot ex is encouraged.
