NieR: Automata features a wide array of enemies, many of which drop valuable materials for upgrading your pod and weapons. While most materials are acquired naturally during gameplay, some, like Warped Wire, require targeted farming. This guide pinpoints an efficient location to farm Warped Wire.
Farming Warped Wire in NieR: Automata
Warped Wire is a rare drop from stacked bipedal machines. These enemies are uncommon, but concentrated in one specific area. The optimal location is accessible via the Desert Camp fast travel point.
Head towards the main desert, but before reaching the open expanse, you'll traverse mountainous terrain alongside a pipe, passing some ruins. This section features multiple clusters of stacked enemies.
Focus on two small clearings near the ruined buildings. The machines here are predominantly the stacked variety, offering a higher Warped Wire drop rate. Typically, clearing these areas yields one or two Warped Wire per run. Equipping a Drop Rate Up plug-in chip significantly accelerates this process.
To quickly respawn enemies for continuous farming:
- Fast Travel: Use the fast travel system to quickly move to another location and then return to Desert Camp. This is far more efficient than manually running.
- Run Away and Return: Moving a significant distance away and returning will also trigger enemy respawns, although this method is less time-effective.
Investing in drop rate increase chips is highly recommended, not just for Warped Wire, but for many upgrade materials dropped by machines throughout the game. Similarly, movement speed increase chips can slightly reduce travel time between fast travel points, proving beneficial for both material farming and completing certain side quests.
