No Man's Sky: Your Guide to Finding, Farming, and Crafting Solanium
Solanium, a crucial resource in No Man's Sky, is exclusively found on planets with specific climates. This guide details how to acquire Solanium through gathering, farming, and crafting.
Locating Solanium:
Unlike Frost Crystals, Solanium thrives on hot, arid planets. Before landing, scan planets from your ship to identify those with a hot, dry climate (e.g., Arid, Incandescent, Boiling, Scorched). The scanner will also indicate Solanium availability. Upon landing, use your Analysis Visor to locate Solar Vines – tall, rock-like structures with glowing vines. These are abundant in specific locations and require a Haz-Mat Gauntlet for harvesting. Remember to collect Phosphorus deposits if present, as they're crucial for crafting Solanium.
Farming Solanium:
Once you've progressed the Farmer's Agricultural Research mission, establish a Solanium farm. Use Hydroponic Trays or Bio-Domes, planting Solar Vines with 50 Solanium and 50 Phosphorus. Hot planets allow direct ground planting. Harvesting occurs after approximately 16 real-time hours.
Crafting Solanium:
Several Refiner recipes create Solanium, primarily using Phosphorus (obtained from hot planets or traders/Galactic Trade Terminals). Recipes include:
- Solanium + Phosphorus (to increase Solanium)
- Phosphorus + Oxygen
- Phosphorus + Sulphurine
- Di-hydrogen + Sulphurine
Note: All crafting methods necessitate visiting a hot planet, except for potentially sourcing Phosphorus from other means. A base-located Phosphorus farm ensures a consistent Sulphurine supply.
