After Yasuke hears rumors of “worse men” from his past being active in Japan, the Yasuke’s Past quests will require players to complete the Templar Hunt Objective Board. Here’s how and where to find every Templar target in Assassin’s Creed Shadows, starting with Kimura Kei.

How to Find the Templar Kimura Kei in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

Your quest to locate Kimura Kei begins with a ronin contact in Kii. You can find him in the heart of the Nakahechi Route at the inn in Takahara Village. If you're having trouble pinpointing his exact location, consider using Scouts to help you out. The ronin you're looking for will be inside a building marked with green flags, right next to a cherry blossom tree, and he'll be wearing Oda Clan attire. Strike up a conversation with him, and he'll direct you to a recruiter named Kumabe Ujiie.

Where to Find Kumabe Ujiie

Kumabe Ujiie is situated in northern Kii, specifically at a cemetery in Koyasan, northeast of Kongobuji Temple. You'll see him walking with a group of ronin. Approach him without engaging his escort, and choose the "I seek guidance" dialogue option. Follow him closely, and he'll eventually reveal Kimura Kei's whereabouts.

How and Where to Assassinate Kimura Kei

Kimura Kei's Training Grounds are located in the southwest part of Kii, just north of the shore, halfway between Sazae Oni Shores and Nakahechi Route. Upon arriving, follow the other students to find him. Kimura Kei will recognize Yasuke and order his students to attack.

As you navigate through the attacking ronin, ensure you're equipped with the highest level armor and weapons available. Exploiting the explosive red barrels scattered along the path can help you clear out groups of enemies efficiently.

The confrontation with Kimura Kei triggers a multi-phase boss fight, where stealth assassination isn't an option. Equip armor with an engraving that allows you to parry unblockable attacks, as Kimura Kei employs them frequently.

In the first phase, he wields a standard Katana. Parry his attacks to make him vulnerable and use posture attacks and abilities to break down his armor. Once his armor is nearly destroyed, the second phase begins, where he switches to a Long Katana alongside the standard one. Here, he unleashes more unblockable attacks, requiring you to focus on dodging and striking when safe.

When Kimura Kei's health drops to about half, the fight shifts outside. He becomes even more aggressive, using highly damaging unblockable attacks with both Katanas. Dodge frequently and maintain distance when necessary. Using a bow or teppo for ranged attacks can be highly effective in this phase.

Every Reward for Killing Kimura Kei in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

Upon defeating Kimura Kei, you'll earn 3,000 XP, some Mon, and the Templar-themed Destroyer Samurai Armor and Helmet. The armor reduces the impact from enemy attacks, while the helmet boosts Yasuke's damage by 10% for every 10% of his health missing.

How to Find the Silver Queen in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

Once all the Shinbakufu are defeated, the Silver Queen will be added to the Templar Board, assisting the Portuguese in plundering Tamba. Similar to Kimura Kei, finding her requires speaking to specific contacts, starting with a spy.

Where to Find and Talk to The Spy

The Spy, crucial for information on the Silver Queen, is located in Southeast Tamba within the Silver Lands. Inside the investigation area, you'll find him seated on a rug under a small structure next to a wooden cart and crates. Engage him in conversation, and he'll disclose the Silver Queen's location.

Where to Meet the Silver Queen

You can find the Silver Queen in Tada, just Northeast of Tada Kakurega. She'll be conversing with Portuguese soldiers. Approach her, strike up a conversation, and follow her to her house for tea. However, you'll awaken in the Tada Silver Mine, drugged.

How to Escape from Tada Silver Mine

Upon waking in a locked room within Tada Silver Mine, sprint into the door to break it open. After dealing with the guards who notice you, you have the choice to either fight or sneak your way out. Sneaking is the most efficient and time-saving option. Turn left and head Southwest out of the mine, eliminating any enemies in your path as you make your escape.

How to Locate Akechi Mitsuyoshi

The Silver Queen tasks Yasuke with rescuing her brother, Akechi Mitsuyoshi, in exchange for information on Yasuke's true target. After escaping Tada Silver Mine, head north toward Kameyama Castle. If you need to restock on Ammo or Rations, there's a Kakurega just north of Senneji Temple upon entering Kameyama.

Activate Pathfinder to navigate through Kameyama Castle, eliminating any guards in your way. You'll encounter a bleeding servant in the living quarters, who will give you a key to the castle's Tenshu.

How to Free Akechi Mitsuyoshi and Retrieve His Katana

With the key to the Tenshu in hand, enter the main castle building beneath the Viewpoint and interact with the marked door to reach Akechi Mitsuyoshi. Follow him as he escapes, using your bow or teppo to eliminate distant threats. Once he's safe, return to the castle to retrieve his Katana from Baltazar after defeating him and his surrounding soldiers. Use abilities and posture attacks to break Baltazar's guard and deal significant damage.

After defeating Baltazar and retrieving the Katana, head north to Atago Shrine. Speak with Akechi Mitsuyoshi and follow him to the Shrine to receive the location of your next target.

How to Find and Assassinate Nuno Caro

Yasuke's final target, Nuno Caro, is preparing to leave Japan and is located in Western Tamba at Takeda Castle. This castle sits high atop a mountain, accessible via a winding road. Use Pathfinder to find the most direct route.

Takeda Castle is teeming with enemies and equipped with alarm bells that can alert others to your presence. Given Yasuke's limited stealth capabilities, prioritize disabling these alarms with your bow or teppo. As you ascend, you'll reach a set of double doors that mark the beginning of your encounter with Nuno Caro.

Eliminate Nuno Caro's men as you ascend the castle to pursue him. Nuno Caro awaits at the very top, ready for a boss fight. He fights similarly to his soldiers, using a sword and pistol. Be prepared to block or parry his four-swing combo and dodge his red-glowing pistol shot. Utilize abilities to deal high damage and create openings for attacks, repeating this cycle until you defeat him. Once Nuno Caro is vanquished, you'll complete the Templar Hunt Objective Board.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows is available from March 20th on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
