NieR: Automata resource management can be tricky. While some materials are plentiful, upgrading numerous weapons requires significant quantities, even of common resources like Dented Plates. This guide outlines efficient farming strategies.
Dented Plate Farming Locations
Dented Plates are frequently dropped by:
- Small Bipeds (all variations)
- Small Flyers (all variations)
- Small Spheres (all variations)
These common enemies appear throughout the game. However, relying solely on respawning enemies via fast travel is inefficient.
The Optimal Farming Spot: Adam's Pit
The most effective Dented Plate farming location is the pit where you first encounter Adam in the main storyline.
Fast travel to the Desert: Housing Complex access point. Proceed deeper into the ruins and descend to the pit. Here, machines continuously respawn, with Small Bipeds being the most prevalent. Even lower-level enemies in this area offer a decent Dented Plate drop rate. This location is also beneficial for farming Titanium Alloy.
Alternative Farming Locations
If you prefer varied locations, the Forest Kingdom offers numerous groups of spear-wielding Bipeds. These groups typically drop at least one Dented Plate. Exploring the Forest Kingdom also provides opportunities to gather Beast Hide. Note that higher-level Bipeds yield a greater chance of Dented Plate drops, so story progression increases both enemy density and the likelihood of higher-level encounters.
Boosting Drop Rates
Equipping drop-rate increasing plug-in chips significantly improves your yield. Remember to avoid death, as this permanently loses your equipped chips.
