Beloved Bethesda voice actor Wes Johnson, known for his roles in Skyrim, Fallout 3, Starfield, and numerous other titles, has shared a moving message following a near-fatal incident. Last week, he was found "barely alive" in his Atlanta hotel room.
A GoFundMe campaign, which has already raised an astounding $174,653 for his medical expenses and outstanding bills, features a video message from Johnson himself, revealing he was in a coma.
In the video, a deeply grateful Johnson expresses his astonishment at the outpouring of support: "I found out there's a lot of love in this world that I didn't know was out there, and I'm grateful to each and every one of you." He recounts the events, stating, "Rumors of my demise weren't exaggerated. It was very close. But I'm still here." His wife's quick thinking in contacting the hotel, prompting security and EMT intervention, was instrumental in saving his life.
Johnson spent five days in a coma before learning of the GoFundMe established by friends Bill Glasser and Shari Elliker, and his wife Kim. He extends heartfelt thanks to the National Alzheimer's Association for their support of his family, to Ted Leonsis (Washington Capitals parent company chairman) for a substantial $25,000 donation, and to Glasser and Elliker for their tireless efforts. He also expresses deep appreciation to Bethesda, who publicly voiced their support, stating, "You say that I'm your friend. I am. Always will be. Love you guys." Finally, he offers a message to his fans: "I love you all. I'm not going anywhere. It's going to be a while as I work my way back, but I'm coming back. I look forward to seeing and hearing you all then. Cheers."
Johnson's extensive voice acting career includes a wide range of film and television roles, but he is perhaps best known for his contributions to Bethesda Game Studios' titles. His memorable performances encompass roles like Ron Hope in Starfield, Sheogorath and Lucien Lachance in Oblivion, several Daedric Princes in Morrowind, Fawkes and Maister Burke in Fallout 3, Hermaeus Mora and Emperor Titus Mede II in Skyrim, and Moe Cronin in Fallout 4, among many others.
