Lies of P DLC and Sequel Announced: A Director's Heartfelt Message
Lies of P director Ji-Won Choi recently penned a touching message to fans, offering a glimpse into upcoming DLC and a highly anticipated sequel for the steampunk Pinocchio-inspired Soulslike game.
Celebrating the game's one-year anniversary, developer NEOWIZ shared Choi's letter, expressing gratitude for the community's support. The team, he revealed, worked tirelessly through Korea's scorching summer to bring the DLC to life. Choi promised the DLC will expand upon the base game's strengths while addressing previously reported issues. He stated their goal is to "do better on what we did well and improve in areas we have room to grow." He also thanked Team NOUGH and ROUND8 Studio for their invaluable contributions.
The letter concluded with exciting news: a new song and concept art from the DLC. The artwork depicts P in a snowy location, gazing at a lighthouse – hinting at a new, challenging area.
A new musical piece from the DLC's soundtrack was also shared, though it's revealed to be a previously composed track, "Lisrim," by onoken, now recontextualized for the game. The accompanying music video showcases a character with a clockwork weapon traversing Victorian rooftops.
DLC Release Date and Sequel Plans
While a specific release date remains unannounced, NEOWIZ's Q1 2024 Earnings Results indicate a launch sometime in the second half of 2024. The DLC will accompany four other NEOWIZ titles:
- The Legend of Heroes: Gagharv Trilogy
- Cats & Soup: Malang Town
- Cats & Soup: Magic Recipe
- Project IG
Further fueling anticipation, Choi previously released an eight-minute video showcasing early DLC concept art, revealing environments like a massive industrial facility and a dangerous shipwreck.
Choi assured fans that the DLC is only the beginning, confirming a full sequel is also in development. While players must exercise patience, the promise of new content and a future sequel keeps the excitement alive.
