NetEase Games has confirmed a robust post-launch plan for Marvel Rivals, promising a new hero every six weeks. Creative Director Guangyun Chen revealed this in an interview with Metro, stating that each three-month season will be split into two halves, each introducing a new playable character. This commitment to regular content updates also includes new seasonal stories and maps.
"Every season will bring fresh seasonal stories, new maps, and new heroes. We're dividing each season into two halves," Chen explained. "A season lasts three months, and each half will introduce a new hero. Our goal is to continuously enhance the experience and keep the community engaged."

This ambitious release schedule naturally sparks anticipation for future heroes. Season 1: Eternal Night Falls showcased Mister Fantastic and the Invisible Woman in the first half, with The Thing and the Human Torch slated for the second. While these iconic characters provide a strong foundation, maintaining this level of consistent high-profile additions remains a significant challenge.
The game already boasts a diverse roster including Wolverine, Magneto, Spider-Man, Jeff the Landshark, and Storm. However, numerous other Marvel characters await inclusion. Speculation points towards Blade in Season 2, with fan hopes high for characters like Daredevil and additional X-Men. NetEase's approach to expanding the roster remains to be seen, but the game's current success suggests a continued commitment to growth.
