As January draws to a close and the new year unfolds, fans of Pokémon TCG Pocket have a double reason to celebrate. The much-anticipated trading feature has finally debuted, coinciding with the launch of the exciting new expansion, Space-Time Smackdown!
Let's dive into the trading feature first. It's designed to mimic real-life card trading, allowing you to exchange cards with friends. However, there are some limitations to keep in mind. Only cards of certain rarities (1-4 and 1-star) can be traded, and you'll need resources like trade hourglasses and trade tokens to make these exchanges. Despite these restrictions, it's a significant addition to the game.
But that's not all! Alongside the trading feature, the Space-Time Smackdown expansion introduces iconic legendary Pokémon, Dialga and Palkia, to TCG Pocket. You'll also encounter the Sinnoh region starters, Turtwig, Chimchar, and Piplup, along with a host of other exciting cards to explore.
Ice-type
However, the trading feature has received a somewhat chilly reception from the community. While I believe it's a valuable addition, the numerous caveats have sparked some discontent. I think Pokémon TCG Pocket might have been better served by either omitting trading altogether or making it as unrestricted as possible, without the need for resources or limitations on which cards can be traded. Fortunately, there are indications that the developers are monitoring feedback closely, suggesting that adjustments could be on the horizon.
