The first wave of 2025 prebuilt gaming PCs equipped with the new Nvidia GeForce RTX 5080 and 5090 graphics cards is now available for purchase. Retail giants like Best Buy, Amazon, Newegg, Adorama, and B&H Photo have launched fresh listings on their websites today. If you're in the market for a complete system featuring one of these cutting-edge GPUs, this is your prime opportunity to snag one. Don't wait too long, as major OEMs like Dell (Alienware), HP (Omen), and Lenovo (Legion) won't release their versions until the end of Q1.
If you're after a standalone GPU instead, you've landed on the wrong page. Head over to our comprehensive RTX 5090 and 5080 preorder guide to discover which retailers will have them in stock. Be prepared, though—launch-day stock of GPUs tends to vanish within hours or even minutes. Retailers have already sounded the alarm about potential inventory shortages, and past Nvidia GPU launches have been plagued by bots that snap up the cards to resell them at inflated prices.

Dell has just unveiled its new Alienware Area-51 lineup of gaming PCs, available in two configurations, both featuring an Intel Core Ultra 9 285K and GeForce RTX 5080 GPU, starting at an impressive $4,449.99. Don't expect immediate delivery; Dell estimates these systems will arrive by April 22.
New for 2025: The Alienware Area-51 Chassis
Dell introduced the new Alienware Area-51 gaming PC at CES 2025. The chassis retains similarities to the 2024 R16 model but includes minor aesthetic and cooling upgrades and updated components. The I/O panel has shifted to the top of the case, and the tempered glass window now covers the entire side panel, eliminating side vents. Air intakes are now located at the bottom and front of the case, promoting a positive airflow design that typically results in a cleaner interior. The internal components have been refreshed with a new motherboard, faster RAM, and a more powerful power supply to support the latest CPUs and RTX 50 series GPUs.

Boutique PC Retailers with Built-to-Order RTX 50XX Systems
Several boutique PC retailers now offer the option to configure systems with RTX 5090 and/or 5080 GPUs. Retailers such as iBuyPower, Origin PC, Maingear, Starforge Systems, NZXT, and Digital Storm have RTX 50-series GPU options available in their configurators. While this provides access to the latest GPUs, keep in mind that custom-built systems can be quite costly and may not offer the best value.
Dell (Alienware), HP, and Lenovo Prebuilt PCs Coming Later
The major OEMs, including Dell (Alienware), HP, and Lenovo, will not introduce their prebuilt gaming desktops with the new RTX 50-series GPUs until later in the year. At CES 2025, Dell showcased the Alienware Area 51 gaming PC, expected to feature Nvidia's new GPUs, with a launch anticipated in Q1. HP plans to offer the RTX 5090 and 5080 in its flagship Omen 45L, likely in mid to late February. Lenovo has not yet announced when it will start integrating the new GPUs into its Legion Tower gaming desktops, leaving us without a specific launch date.
Our RTX 5090 FE and 5080 FE Reviews Are Live
Nvidia unveiled its 50-series GPUs at CES 2025, focusing on enhanced AI features alongside modest hardware-based raster performance improvements. DLSS 4 technology claims to quadruple frame rates with minimal visual compromise. While the new GPUs do offer a performance boost, opinions vary on their value relative to the previous RTX 40-series.
In our review of the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 FE, Jackie Thomas stated, "The Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 has officially taken the performance crown from the RTX 4090, but with less force than previous generations. For traditional non-AI gaming performance, the RTX 5090 offers one of the smallest generational uplifts in recent memory. However, in games that support it, DLSS 4 delivers huge performance gains – you just have to accept that 75% of the frames are AI-generated."
In our Nvidia GeForce RTX 5080 FE review, Jackie expressed a similar view. "If you already own a high-end graphics card from the last couple of years, the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5080 might not be worth it – it doesn't offer a significant performance lead over the RTX 4080, though the additional frames from DLSS 4 Multi-Frame Generation do enhance visuals in supported games. However, for gamers with older graphics cards looking for a substantial performance boost, the RTX 5080 delivers – especially if you're open to Nvidia's AI enhancements."
