miHoYo's Zenless Zone Zero (ZZZ) Achieves PlayStation Success
miHoYo, the studio behind the hugely popular Genshin Impact, continues its PlayStation triumph with the new action RPG, Zenless Zone Zero. The game's multi-platform launch has seen it quickly climb the ranks of PlayStation's most played titles.
ZZZ Cracks the PS5 Top 10
Zenless Zone Zero, a free-to-play action RPG, has impressively secured a place among PlayStation's top games. Circana's "US Player Engagement Tracker Top 10 Titles" report placed ZZZ in the top 10, alongside established heavyweights like Elden Ring and Minecraft. The ranking is based on weekly user engagement, excluding playtime data.
Launched on July 4th, ZZZ's initial impact was significant, reaching the #12 spot in the PS5's top 40 most-played games within its first week. Further success is evident in mobile revenue, with PocketGamer.biz reporting nearly $52 million in gross player spending ($36.4 million net) during the first 11 days. July 5th saw a peak of $7.4 million in consumer spending on the App Store and Google Play.
While not yet matching the overall success of miHoYo's other titles, ZZZ's performance is noteworthy, placing it alongside industry titans like Call of Duty, Fortnite, and Roblox. The game boasts a 4.5/5 star rating on the Epic Games Store, with players praising its engaging boss battles and compelling narrative.
Our review awarded ZZZ a 76/100, highlighting its stunning visuals and animations. [Link to review]
