Revue Starlight Re LIVE is officially shutting down. The mobile game, based on the popular anime, will cease operations on September 30th, 2024, at 07:00 UTC, ending nearly six years of service.
Why the Shutdown?
While initially a promising extension of the Revue Starlight anime, Revue Starlight Re LIVE struggled to maintain player interest. Factors contributing to its closure include repetitive events, recycled assets, and excessively expensive battle passes. Storyline inconsistencies, such as the abrupt character shift from The Giraffe, further alienated players. The shutdown affects the game globally, including Japan.
Positive Aspects
Despite its shortcomings, the game boasted a strong soundtrack featuring anime music and impressive 3D graphics with Live2D animations.
A Final Farewell?
Although the game's lifespan is ending, players still have a few weeks to enjoy remaining content. Developers are launching farewell campaigns in August and September, including a "Thank You For Everything" campaign offering ten free daily pulls and a two-month birthday celebration featuring gacha events. Download the game from the Google Play Store for a final playthrough.
