Netflix has unveiled the thrilling trailer for Electric State, a new sci-fi epic from the acclaimed directors Anthony and Joe Russo, known for their work on Avengers: Endgame. The trailer teases an enthralling story with Millie Bobby Brown, beloved for her role in Stranger Things, portraying a determined young heroine, and Chris Pratt, star of Guardians of the Galaxy, as a mysterious wanderer.
Set in a dystopian future following a devastating technological collapse, Electric State chronicles the harrowing journey of its protagonist as she traverses the desolate American frontier in search of her lost brother. Accompanying her is a charming yellow robot, injecting a bit of whimsy into the otherwise bleak setting. As they navigate this shattered landscape, they cross paths with an enigmatic drifter whose secrets could be crucial to understanding their broken world. Drawing inspiration from the imaginative graphic novels of Simon Stålenhag, this film promises a blend of emotion and suspense.
The cast is rounded out by a stellar ensemble including Woody Harrelson from Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, Anthony Mackie of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Ke Huy Quan from Everything Everywhere All at Once, Billy Bob Thornton known for Goliath, and Giancarlo Esposito of Better Call Saul. With a screenplay penned by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, the writers behind Avengers: Infinity War, Electric State is set to enchant audiences upon its release on March 14, 2025.
