Torchlight: Infinite has just unveiled the exciting details of its upcoming Season 8: Sandlord, set to launch on April 17th. This season promises to be a game-changer, introducing the unique Cloud Oasis feature along with revamped economic gameplay mechanics. Additionally, the Deep Space endgame content has been completely overhauled, offering players a fresh challenge.
In Season 8, players will dive into the new Cloud Oasis, a floating city where economic strategy takes center stage. Here, you'll have the opportunity to trade resources, manage your workforce, and oversee production lines to construct your own aerial empire. This innovative mechanic adds a layer of depth, turning Torchlight: Infinite into not just a monster-slaying adventure, but a realm where you can build and rule your own sky-bound stronghold.
Returning this season is Thea, but with a significant twist. Her new trait, Blasphemer, sees her trading traditional divine powers for the curse of Desecration. Starting off weak, this curse scales powerfully, enhancing Erosion damage based on the depletion of her blessing power. Players can tailor this into area-of-effect explosions or health-scaling effects, making it a perfect fit for those who enjoy damage-over-time and intricate build synergies.
Endgame enthusiasts will find plenty to love in the revamped Deep Space. With five new stages, larger maps, and more challenging enemies, the stakes are higher than ever. The introduction of the Probes system allows players to adjust the level of risk and potential rewards. Utilizing different Probes can heighten the challenge but also increases the chance of securing better loot, including coveted Compass chests through the Compass Probe.
Season 8 also introduces a Blending System for belt crafting, enabling the fusion of Hero Traits, Talent nodes, and unique affixes into a single item slot, offering deeper customization and build possibilities. A new boss, Night Slayer – The Wilting Plume, has been added to both Plane Watcher and the 20th floor of Supreme Showdown, bringing fresh battles to conquer.
To celebrate the launch, Torchlight: Infinite is hosting the Sands of Fortune anniversary event from April 17th to May 1st. Players can participate in various tasks, earn Gold Rush Attempts, and have a chance to win from a $250,000 prize pool.
