Squid Game: Unleashed is celebrating Season Two of the hit Netflix show with a massive content update! Get ready for new characters, a brand-new map, and exciting challenges. Plus, you can earn exclusive rewards just by watching the new episodes!

Netflix surprised everyone by releasing Squid Game: Unleashed—their battle royale take on the Korean drama—for free to all players, subscribers and non-subscribers alike, right before the holidays. Now, they're doubling down, enticing non-subscribers with enticing rewards for watching Season Two.

What's in store for existing players? Starting January 3rd, a new map inspired by the Season Two mini-game, Mingle, arrives. Three new playable characters—Geum-Ja, Yong-Sik, and rapper Thanos—will also debut throughout January.

Geum-Ja and Thanos each have special in-game events launching on January 3rd and 9th respectively, offering unique ways to unlock them. And the rewards don't stop there! Watching episodes of Squid Game Season Two earns you in-game Cash and Wild Tokens. Watching up to seven episodes unlocks the exclusive Binni Binge-Watcher outfit!

Squid Game: Unleashed January Update Schedule:

  • January 3rd: The Mingle map launches alongside Geum-Ja. Participate in the Dalgona Mash Up Collection Event (until January 9th) by completing Mingle-inspired mini-games and collecting Dalgona tins.
  • January 9th: Thanos arrives with his own recruitment event, the Thanos’ Red Light Challenge (until January 14th). Eliminate players using knives to unlock him.
  • January 16th: Yong-Sik joins the roster as the final new character in this update.

Squid Game: Unleashed might be a game-changer for Netflix's gaming ambitions. The free-to-play model was a bold move, but rewarding subscribers while simultaneously driving viewership is a clever strategy that could significantly benefit both the game and the show.
