How to Unlock the Shu True Ending in Dynasty Warriors: Origins

by Lucas Mar 17,2025

Embark on an epic journey to unlock the true ending for Liu Bei's Shu faction in Dynasty Warriors: Origins! This guide will walk you through the steps needed to achieve this coveted conclusion.

First, complete the Shu campaign. This unlocks the ability to replay stages, and you'll notice a golden banner next to "The Battle of Changban." This signifies an alternate path to the true ending. Normally, you help Liu Bei escape while Zhang Fei holds off Cao Cao. However, for the true ending, you must defeat Cao Cao himself.

This is no easy feat! You'll be facing Cao Cao's army almost single-handedly, embodying the series' iconic "1 vs. 1000" challenge. Failure to defeat Cao Cao before Liu Bei falls means restarting the mission. To increase your odds:

Reduce the game's difficulty to Historian mode. This isn't cheating; the sheer number of enemies makes it challenging otherwise. Choose Zhang Fei as your partner. This starts you closer to Cao Cao's army, saving valuable time. Utilize your Musou Rage wisely. You'll face two Grand Tactics: one requiring two officer kills, and another needing 250 soldier defeats. A weapon like twin pikes is recommended for the latter. Once Cao Cao's army is routed, defeating him should be manageable. A few more missions after this victory will lead you to the Shu true ending.

Congratulations! You've unlocked the true ending for Shu in Dynasty Warriors: Origins! The game is available now on PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S.
