How to play the Okey game:
The offline Okey game is traditionally played with 4 players. A cue stick is used to help sort the tiles. The game pieces come in four colors: Red, Black, Yellow, and Blue, numbered from 1 to 13. Additionally, there are two fake Okey tiles, making a total of 106 tiles.
At the start, all tiles are shuffled and automatically distributed. The player next to the distributor receives 15 tiles, while the others get 14. Players then arrange their tiles into groups or pairs based on the cues provided.
Tiles not distributed are placed in the middle of the table, with the open numbered tile serving as the indicator stone. The tile matching the indicator in color and number becomes the Okey Stone, which can be used in place of any tile. Finishing the game with an Okey tile doubles the points earned.
Normal tile arrangement involves creating at least three pairs, either by aligning tiles of the same color in sequence or by grouping tiles of the same number across different colors.
For pair formation, players aim to arrange all tiles into pairs, ending the game by dragging the last tile to the table when seven pairs are formed.
The indicator rule specifies that at the start of a new game, the next player reveals the indicator tile. If it's Okey colored, points are deducted; otherwise, 2 points are deducted.
The game concludes with various scoring scenarios:
- A normal finish with a non-Okey tile results in 2 points being deducted from other players; if Okey colored, 4 points are deducted.
- Finishing with seven pairs deducts 4 points from other players.
- Completing all tiles in one color from 1 to 13 results in other players' points dropping to zero.
- Irregular completion of all tiles in one color deducts 8 points from other players.
