Spirit Island, a cooperative settler-destruction strategy game designed by R. Eric Reuss, is set in an alternate-history world around A.D. 1700. Players assume the roles of different Spirits of the land, each wielding unique elemental powers, to defend their island home from colonizing Invaders who bring blight and destruction. Working in tandem with the native Dahan, the Spirits strive to increase their power and ultimately drive the colonists away in this strategic area-control game.
