Tarneeb is a card game played by two teams, each consisting of two players sitting opposite each other. Using a standard 52-card deck, gameplay proceeds counter-clockwise. The goal for each player is to accurately estimate the number of "Allmat" (tricks) their team will win in a given round.
The player who wins the bid to declare "Tarneeb" throws down a type of paper; other players must then throw down the same type. The first player to successfully match the paper type wins the "Bamh". If a player doesn't possess the matching paper, they forfeit their "Tarneeb" option. "Tarneeb" papers are superior to any other paper type; the player who throws the strongest "Tarneeb" paper wins, unless a stronger one is played.
The round ends when all players have discarded their cards. Points are tallied. A team's bid is successful only if they achieve their target number of "Allmat" or more. If successful, the number of "Allmat" won is added to their score. If unsuccessful, the number of "Allmat" won by the opposing team is added to their score, and the bidding team loses points.
If either team achieves a score of 13 "Allmat" without bidding for 13, 16 points are added to their total. If they bid for and achieve 13 "Allmat", they gain 26 points. If a team bids for 13 "Allmat" and fails, 16 points are deducted from their score.
The game concludes when one team reaches a total score of 41 or more, declaring them the winner.
