2011's Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe lived up to its title, showcasing Wade Wilson's descent into chaos as he decimated the Marvel Universe. The series' popularity led to a sequel, 2017's Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe Again, by writer Cullen Bunn and artist Dalibor Talajić. Now, the duo returns for the trilogy's finale: Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe One Last Time, where Deadpool's carnage expands across the entire Marvel multiverse.
IGN spoke with Bunn about this final act. Below is an exclusive preview of the first issue, followed by insights into the fourth-wall-breaking mayhem.

Bunn, a prolific Deadpool creator (Deadpool: Killustrated, Night of the Living Deadpool, Deadpool & the Mercs for Money), revealed he didn't initially plan a trilogy. "I never knew that series would go anywhere," he stated. "My first pitch after Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe was Deadpool Kills the Marvel Multiverse. Now is a much better time to tell that story!"
Escalating the conflict presented a challenge. The solution? The multiverse. This installment features battles against Cap-Wolves, Worldbreaker Hulks, and twisted versions of Marvel heroes and villains.
"The multiverse opens up new avenues," Bunn explained. "We wanted this to be different. I researched the 'worst' (best) variants. What I didn't realize is we were creating the most epic Deadpool story of all time!"
Bunn remained tight-lipped about specific matchups beyond those already revealed, teasing, "There are cool characters showing up... dozens. Deadpool battles some of the multiverse's most powerful beings. Some characters haven't been seen in over 30 years. Will those be the most epic battles? You'll have to see."
Talajić's visual style, which incorporated diverse artistic styles in Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe Again, continues to evolve. "With this new book, we're not changing the overall visual style for each kill," Bunn said. "Dalibor shines in his interpretations of different worlds... different versions of our heroes... and a different version of [REDACTED] than you've ever seen before."
Unlike the previous entries, which offered separate reasons for Deadpool's actions (disillusionment and brainwashing), this installment is a fresh start, though observant readers might find connections to earlier volumes. Bunn describes this Deadpool as "much more sympathetic," posing the question: "What if Deadpool killed the Marvel Universe... and we were rooting for him to succeed?"
