CD Projekt Red Issues Warning

CD Projekt Red, the minds behind The Witcher 4, have alerted fans to a scam involving fake beta test invitations spreading online. On April 16, the studio used The Witcher’s official X (formerly Twitter) account to address the issue, stating they had been informed of these fraudulent invitations.

The post emphasized, "We are actively working to remove this deceptive content. If you encounter any such invitations or related news, we encourage you to report them using the reporting tools available on your email or social media platforms."

They further clarified that any future beta tests would be announced first through The Witcher's official channels.

The Witcher 4 made its grand debut at the Game Awards in December 2024, with a trailer that introduced Ciri as the protagonist, sparking widespread discussion among fans. Traditionally, Geralt has been the face of the series, so this shift to Ciri was a significant departure.

In an interview with VGC following the announcement, The Witcher 4's Narrative Director, Phillipp Weber, addressed the fan feedback. He expressed understanding for the attachment to Geralt but assured that the team was committed to showcasing Ciri's potential. "Our aim is to demonstrate that Ciri can bring fresh and compelling narratives to the series. This choice was not made lightly; it's the result of long-term planning," Weber stated.

The developers have described The Witcher 4 as the most ambitious installment yet, promising new regions and monsters. It is slated for release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, though no specific release date has been announced. Stay tuned to our updates for the latest on The Witcher 4!
