Slaying monsters in *Monster Hunter Wilds* is thrilling, but to fully equip yourself with the best armor, you'll also need to master the art of trapping them. This means you'll need Trap Tools, and here's how you can obtain them.

Where to Get Trap Tools in Monster Hunter Wilds

While *Monster Hunter Wilds* doesn't hold your hand through the process of trapping monsters or acquiring Trap Tools, if you're familiar with the series, the method will feel intuitive.

Monster Hunter Wilds Trap Tools

Your primary source for Trap Tools is the Provisions Stockpiler NPC at your Base Camp. Simply approach him, browse his inventory, and you'll find Trap Tools available for purchase at 200 Zenny each. It's wise to stock up on these, particularly if your goal is to farm specific monsters or aim to capture every monster type in the game.

Note that Trap Tools are exclusively available for purchase at Base Camp and are not found in the wild like other resources.

How to Use Trap Tools

Once you've secured your Trap Tools, it's time to deploy them effectively. You can combine them with a Net (crafted using Spiderweb or Ivy) to create a Pitfall Trap, or pair them with a Thunderbug Capacitor to form a Shock Trap.

Both types of traps are effective, but remember, certain monsters have resistances. For example, Shock Traps are ineffective against Rey Dau, the lightning dragon, due to its immunity to electric shocks. In such cases, opt for the Pitfall Trap.

Keep in mind that you can only carry one Trap item at a time, so timing is crucial—use your trap when the monster is weakened for the best results.

That's the scoop on acquiring and utilizing Trap Tools in *Monster Hunter Wilds*. For more insights and tips on the game, be sure to check out The Escapist.
