The much-anticipated Nintendo Switch 2 will feature different pricing strategies in Japan compared to the rest of the world. This new gaming console will come in two distinct versions: a Japanese-language system, exclusive to Japan, and a Multi-Language System available globally. The Japanese version is set to retail at approximately $330, significantly lower than the Multi-Language System's price of $449.99. This price disparity is largely due to the current weakness of the yen against the US dollar, which impacts the cost-effectiveness for tourists looking to buy in Japan.
Residents of Japan have the option to purchase the Multi-Language System if they prefer. However, the Japanese-language version will only be available for purchase within Japan and requires a Nintendo Account set to the Japan region. This version will exclusively support the Japanese language and will only offer software available on the Japanese Nintendo eShop.
Nintendo recommends that fans who want to use the Switch 2 in languages other than Japanese opt for the Multi-Language System version. More details on this version will be disclosed on April 4.
