Welcome back to another installment of our ongoing series, "How is Ubisoft today?" Amidst the ongoing challenges faced by Ubisoft's upper management, there's a silver lining to report: one of the persistent issues plaguing gamers has been resolved.
Ubisoft has successfully addressed compatibility problems between several Assassin’s Creed titles and the 24H2 update for Windows 11. Since the fall of 2024, games like Assassin’s Creed Origins and Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, along with other Ubisoft titles, had been malfunctioning on the new operating system. The fix arrived through newly released patches, which were announced on the Steam pages for Origins and Valhalla.
The gaming community has responded positively to the news, with many expressing relief and gratitude in the comments section of the patch notes. Notably, the criticism typically directed at Ubisoft has been absent this time, as the issue stemmed from the Windows update rather than the game developer itself. Despite the positive feedback, the recent reviews for both games continue to be rated as "Mixed."
Looking forward, there's optimism surrounding the upcoming release of Assassin’s Creed Shadows. The game's launch, now rescheduled for March 20, reflects Ubisoft's commitment to enhancing its quality. The success of Assassin’s Creed Shadows is crucial, as it may well shape the future trajectory of the company.
