Wuthering Waves' elemental system has evolved significantly with Version 2.0. Initially, elements provided character buffs and enemy resistances, but lacked deep team synergies. The update introduces Elemental Effects, allowing for more direct element interactions beyond passive buffs.
Elemental Status Effects and Debuffs:
While some elemental effects existed previously (e.g., Glacio's freeze), Version 2.0 expands this system. Each element now has a unique status effect:
Elemental Effect | Effect Description |
---|---|
Havoc Bane | Stacks periodically, up to 2. At 2 stacks, deals Havoc DMG and reapplies to nearby characters. |
Glacio Chafe | Reduces movement speed per stack, freezing at 10 stacks. Players can "Struggle" to speed up thawing. |
Spectro Frazzle | Stacks decrease periodically, dealing Spectro DMG. More stacks = more DMG. |
Fusion Burst | Stacks up to 10, exploding at max stacks for significant Fusion DMG. |
Aero Erosion | Periodic Aero DMG over time; stacks don't deplete to deal damage. More stacks = more DMG. |
Electro Flare | Reduces ATK based on stacks (1-4: -5%, 5-9: -7% + Magnetized effect, 10: -10%). |
Dodging removes all effect stacks.
Resonators, Echoes, and Echo Sets:
Currently, Elemental Effect utilization is limited. Only a few Resonators, Echoes, and Echo Sets interact with these effects:
Resonators Applying Elemental Effects:
- Spectro Rover: Post-Version 2.0 rework, Spectro Rover uniquely applies Elemental Effects. Its Resonance Skill's Resonating Spin variant applies 2 stacks of Spectro Frazzle, and the Shimmer effect prevents stack decay, allowing sustained effect buildup.
Echoes and Echo Sets Related to Elemental Effects:
- Echo Set - Eternal Radiance: (2pc) Spectro DMG +10%; (5pc) Spectro Frazzle increases Crit. Rate by 20% for 15s; 10 stacks grant 15% Spectro DMG Bonus for 15s.
- Echo - Nightmare: Increases Spectro DMG dealt to enemies affected by Spectro Frazzle by 100%. Provides a Spectro DMG bonus to the equipped Resonator. This Echo is currently only beneficial to Spectro Rover.
While the system's current implementation is niche, it suggests future expansion of Elemental Effects' role in Wuthering Waves.
